Meet Callie

Hi sweet friends! I'm Callie!

Welcome to my little slice of E-heaven. This blog has been in the works for years....literally!! I've wanted to blog forever but never really had the exact words or reasons. You could say that life just got in the way. It wasn't until just recently I decided now was as good of a time as any to spew my life into blog land!

I was recently diagnosed with the BRCA 2 genetic mutation which, in a nutshell, ups my chances of developing breast & ovarian cancers exponentially as well as puts me at higher risk for pancreatic cancer as well. More on all of that over here. This diagnosis is the real reason for the blog FINALLY being published to the world. My goal is to raise awareness of these cancers as well as document my journey ahead.

Have no fear though! This blog will involve so much more than my health issues! Here I'll also share my love for fitness and living a healthy life, my DIY'ing successes and disasters, as well as random mom stuff!

All of this makes up MY BEAUTIFULLY CRAZY LIFE! Welcome to it! HA!

So enough about all that! Its time to meet the people that make up this life of mine!

I'm a wife to the best husband around! We are polar opposites in a lot of ways but then the exact same in others. He keeps my feet on the ground and my head on straight and I simply cannot imagine going through this life with anyone else. He always supports my ever changing mind, crazy ideas, and constant OCDness usually with a smile on his face! Now that's a great guy!

I'm also a mom to 3 of the most gorgeous, hilarious, and huggable kids ever. I may be a little biased! They would be, T, Tootie, & Little Man! They are the reason I breath but yet the reason I have grey hair at my young age.

I had the pleasure of growing up with 2 sisters and although we fought like cats and dogs I wouldn't trade them in for the world! We are constantly being called by the others names since our parents thought it would be amazing to name us Callie, Cara, & Camie. Yea, say that 3 times fast. :)
I'm also a proud Auntie because of my youngest sister!

Then there's my mom! I literally cannot say enough about her. She's probably the strongest woman I know! She raised 3 girls literally all by herself for 6 years after my dad died of pancreatic cancer. And might I add, teenage girls at that! She finally re-married and I gained another Sister and a great papa to my kids.

I also have a HUGE extended family, biological and my in-law family, that I literally could not go through this crazy life without!

I'm currently a stay at home mom in the small Texas town I grew up in. Although Mom is the proud title I will always hold, my dreams of  "what I want to be when I grow up" changes (almost) daily. For those that know me well probably get tired of me changing my mind about this very topic! When I'm not being a chauffeur, maid, cook, teacher, etc., you can usually find me in the gym, deciding what project I'm going to tackle next.

Thanks so much for stopping by and joining me on my crazy journey. I hope you leave here a little more motivated to get healthy or have learned a thing or two. Let's be honest...if you leave here laughing a little or if I at least put a smile on your face I did my job. :)

with love, Callie
